Improvements Enhance Resident Lifestyles and Offer Additional Amenities
Eastcastle Place is proud to announce that it has completed a $2.5 million renovation of our Health Center for rehabilitative care and skilled nursing. The goal of this comprehensive project was to enhance our residents’ lifestyles through improved technology and updated finishes. The renovation focused on the 4th and 5th floors of Eastcastle Place’s Bradford Terrace.
“Eastcastle Place has been an important part of Milwaukee’s East Side for more than 130 years, and our improvements to the Health Center are part of our ongoing commitment to serve our residents with exceptional care and amenities,” said Eastcastle Place Board of Directors President Nancy O’Donnell.
Improvements include new door-to-door and floor-to-ceiling fixtures, finishes and furnishings. The two-floor Health Center provides short-term, post-acute and rehabilitative care for patients recuperating from injury, illness or surgery, and long-term care for residents in need of around the clock skilled nursing services.
Efforts include an expanded therapy gym with senior-friendly equipment for cardio, strength training and balance exercises. The gym is staffed with a therapy manager and staff to conduct resident assessments and tailor individual rehabilitation programs incorporating speech, occupational therapy and physical therapy.
In addition, Eastcastle Place has added a new family activities room for multi-functional use and updated audio/visual technology. In this area, residents can enjoy movies, play cards or participate in a wide variety of activities, led by our Eastcastle Place activities staff.
The dining room features a large open area with natural light and has a section for resident to socialize with friends and family. During the day, the space offers a continental breakfast, as well as Eastcastle Place’s standard three restaurant-style meals.
New nursing stations have been installed to welcome visitors, patients and residents, and each has been enhanced with the latest communication technology so we can serve our residents in a timely manner. Resident rooms have also been redesigned with new furniture and beds, fresh paint, carpet and window treatments.
“The results of our renovation are both beautiful and functional, and the new environment reinforces our position as Milwaukee’s premier continuing care retirement community,” said Eastcastle Place Administrator Lynda Bogdala. “We’re so grateful to our board of directors for their commitment and generosity, and our community welcomes interested families to visit Eastcastle Place to experience our offerings in person.”
