Gudex went through LCS’s very selective professional development program, which put him on a fast track to becoming an executive director. “I knew that it was a career goal to become an executive director. Working as an administrator of health services in Phoenix, Arizona, the day-to-day operations of healthcare provided me excellent training in taking my next step as an executive director.” With family in the Midwest, Gudex was happy to return to the area and became the administrator and then interim executive director at Newcastle Place in Mequon. When the full-time executive director returned to her position, Gudex moved on to the role at Eastcastle Place. “I was excited to be offered this opportunity. I knew that Eastcastle Place has a rich history and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I love Milwaukee, and Eastcastle Place is in a very vibrant area of the city,” he said.
Now almost a month into his new role, Gudex said that the community is exceeding his already high expectations. “The residents absolutely love it here. They’re sophisticated and talented and have fascinating histories. It’s so interesting to hear their stories, and to understand that my role can impact how their stories continue.”
Noting that Eastcastle Place is a “premier senior living experience,” Gudex said that he wants to build on what is already a strong foundation. “We have opportunities over the coming years, to continue to improve, from potentially a bricks and mortar perspective, to continuing to enhance our internal amenities and offerings for our residents and future residents. We’ll advance the reputation even above and beyond where we’re at right now. My job as the executive director is to work with the great team here and to push that vision. Ultimately, we’re here for the resident, who has the right to expect the very best. The residents have worked hard throughout their lives. We will continue to work hard to fulfill this next chapter in their lives and provide the best experience that we can.”
