Home at Eastcastle Place

Moving is always a significant life change, whether you’re headed across the country or across the street. Eastcastle resident Evelyn K. was excited yet apprehensive about what her future would look like by making a move from Virginia to Milwaukee in 2023. She had heard wonderful things about Eastcastle Place and was looking forward to starting this new chapter in her life.

Like many major life events, things did not go exactly as planned. Despite a slight delay in her transition to Milwaukee, Evelyn’s experience at Eastcastle Place turned out to be “wonderful – thanks to the incredible support from the staff and residents.” She moved into a temporary home in Eastcastle’s North Point Terrace Building and began to enjoy all that is Eastcastle Place while waiting for her brand new Lake Terrace home to be completed.

Evelyn shared how the staff went above and beyond to ensure she felt comfortable and welcomed, providing her with all the assistance needed during this transitional period. The residents, especially those on the Welcoming Ambassador Committee, played a crucial role in making Evelyn feel at home. They reached out to her, offered companionship, and shared their own experiences, which helped Evelyn settle in quickly.

FINDING A NEW HOME AND COMMUNITY

Evelyn’s temporary stay turned into a heartwarming experience as she built connections and friendships within the community. The kindness and support she received made her feel valued and cared for. The positive experience inspired Evelyn to join the Ambassador Committee herself, where she helps new residents’ transition smoothly into their new homes, just as she was supported throughout that uncertain time.

EVELYN’S INVOLVEMENT AT THE CASTLE

In addition to her efforts as an Ambassador, Evelyn generously opens her beautifully decorated home to offer folks a glimpse into the comfortable and stylish living our community provides. She continues to showcase the warmth and inclusiveness that Eastcastle Place offers.

Here are just a few examples of how Evelyn is actively involved:

  • Delighting in lunch outings, these opportunities are the perfect blend of socializing, exploring eateries, and indulging in a love for good food and conversation.
  • Outings to the symphony, museums, and other local venues with Eastcastle residents
  • Recently Evelyn has been involved in making the famous Eastcastle pickles, a cherished tradition. These delicious pickles will be sold at our upcoming “Christmas at the Castle” event, adding a touch of history and community spirit to the festivities.

All of these contributions enrich the lives of fellow residents and highlight the strong sense of community we cherish here at Eastcastle Place.

EVELYN’S MESSAGE TO NEW RESIDENTS

Evelyn’s journey is a testament to the strength and warmth of the Eastcastle Place community. She encourages new residents to embrace the change and trust in the support system available.

“Moving can be daunting, but the people here make all the difference. They turned a challenging situation into a beautiful new beginning for me. I want to encourage new residents to join me in this wonderful community. The Ambassador Committee and I are here to help you every step of the way. Together, we can make this transition smooth and enjoyable. Don’t hesitate to reach out, get involved, and make new friends. This place has much to offer, and I ‘m excited to share this journey with you.”-Evelyn Kessler
